A note from Sue:

During my years of studying the wonderful Science of Mind philosophy, I found myself in awe of Ernest Holmes and wanting to know more and more about our beloved founder. What inspired him? What was he like among his friends and family in everyday life? Was he always spiritually-focused or did this teaching evolve with his own growth and understanding?

In the Science of Mind Archives, I discovered tapes and CDs of Ernest speaking and books about his life. I devoured books by his brother, Fenwick Holmes, his longtime friend and colleague, Dr. Reginald Armor, and his colleague, Dr. William Hornaday. I interviewed Holmes Archivist, Dr. Rev. Marilyn Leo, who related personal family stories of Ernest (and who became my valued friend in the course of this research).

Is it my prayer that all of our Centers for Spiritual Living experience the blessing of getting to know Ernest better, and enjoying a laugh or two along the way. Those who see the opportunity for prosperous fundraising and community expansion will benefit greatly.

I am blessed beyond measure by the privilege I’ve had in spending this time with Ernest Holmes…and now with all of you…in the ever-expanding expression of Spirit!
